What is m-Comm?

m-Comm is a lightweight, portable, intrinsically safe communications system, developed for use in all areas where conventional radios won't work.

m-Comm was designed in conjunction with the UK Mines Rescue Service, to provide a reliable voice link with rescue teams in hazardous situations.

For anyone that has taken a portable radio or portable phone into a long tunnel, underground building or metal storage vessel, the problems of communication drop-out or even total loss of communication are well recognised. This is a major concern in hazardous activities such as working in confined spaces, where the atmosphere may be potentially explosive, poisonous or unable to support life, requiring breathing apparatus be worn. Under these circumstances, effective communication to the outside world is essential, both for safety reasons and to ensure the job is carried out efficiently.

The m-Comm communications system is the equipment of choice in number of demanding confined space and rescue communication applications.
